That’s right! Quadranscentennial. A big, important word because a 25th reunion is a big, important gathering! There is a weekend of events planned to celebrate this milestone, culminating in a classy ~ but chill ~ reunion at Shadow Lake Golf Club on Saturday night.
IHS TOURFriday the 24th, we'll tour the high school at 5pm with alum Kelly (Walsh) Moroni as our guide. Kelly is a teacher at IHS and will take us through 25 years of changes. Legend has it you won't recognize the halls you once lingered in. See for yourself! This is free, but we ask that you register so we know how many people to expect.
CASUAL GET-TOGETHERFollowing the school tour will be a casual get-together at Ollie's, starting at 7pm. Parents, friends from other classes, old teachers, and coaches are welcome to join us in kicking off the weekend.
Canned goods will be collected to benefit the Irondequoit Community Cupboard.
25TH REUNIONWe'll celebrate our 25th on the 25th at 5:30pm. Tickets are $40 and include a small plates reception, lawn games, entertainment by
DJ Oltra, a rocking playlist that's sure to bring you back in time, and a night of reminiscing and reconnecting with a cash bar available.
In addition to canned goods being collected for the Irondequoit Community Cupboard, cash donations to benefit the Helmer Nature Center are also welcome. Please consider donating to these causes and helping our class make an impact on the community we grew up in.
The reunion will take place outdoors and local health guidelines will be observed. Guests are encouraged to take precautions they feel comfortable with, but we are not requiring proof of vaccination or masks unless local guidelines warrant this.
HOTELSRoom blocks and group discounts have been set up at the
Courtyard Marriott and
Hampton Inn, both less than ten minutes from Shadow Lake. To take advantage of our special rates, book by June 3rd thru the links here, or mention that you're with the IHS Class of 1997 Reunion group when you reserve by phone.
COMMEMORATIVE T-SHIRTSAlum and artist Kristin (Burns) Bodden has designed a variety of t-shirts to celebrate this milestone ~ you might remember her design on the PACE Party t-shirt from June of '97.... this is an opportunity to add to your collection of commemorative wear! Shirts can be purchased from Mojo Custom Apparel, a local shop owned by an IHS alum, and are
available online until June 12th ~ a portion of each sale will benefit an Irondequoit non-profit (TBD). Visit
https://bit.ly/Class_of_97_Tshirts to purchase yours!
REGISTRATIONPlease confirm your attendance by registering below before June 17th. Late registration cannot be guaranteed. If finances might prevent you from attending, please reach out to
Steve or
Erin before this date ~ one of our classmates has generously offered to cover the ticket cost for alum in need to make this fully inclusive. No questions asked, and no shame in asking.
Requests are completely confidential and will be handled with sensitivity.
Start making plans!!! We're looking forward to seeing everyone!
Cheers,
The Planning Team
