Chicago Blues in Maplewood:
Hunger relief benefit
Join us on June 25
This very special one-day musical event brings blues luminaries to Pickett’s Village Bar in Maplewood to pay tribute to Chicago blues. Proceeds benefit hunger relief organization Meeting Essential Needs with Dignity (mendnj.org).

The event is being produced in partnership with Blues Disciples Media, which broadcasts a weekly podcast hosted by Jamie Anthony.

“We’re thrilled to welcome these incredible artists to Maplewood,” says Mr. Anthony. “Mud Morganfield is the son of blues legend Muddy Waters and Bob Margolin was a long-time member of Muddy’s band. These artists keep us connected to our American musical heritage.”

Muddy Waters’ Chicago blues legacy also lives on in fellow event performers, Blues Music Award-winning singer Diunna Greenleaf, blues harmonica great, Bob Corritore, and renowned blues musicologist and guitarist, Dr. David Evans.

MEND is a hunger-relief organization that serves Essex County, NJ. The non-profit organization feeds 400,000 people each year through its network of 22 food pantries, and through its innovative use of free farmer’s markets and home deliveries. The MEND pantry network covers Newark, Irvington, East Orange, Maplewood and beyond
