When does DWDM Make sense
What criteria do service providers need to consider when adding DWDM to their networks?  The three main considerations are the distance between network nodes, the capacity required and reliability.  Join Padtec for a discussion of DWDM networks and the importance of these DWDM characteristics.

Enterprise use cases for Internet Exchanges
Internet Exchanges have traditionally been seen as locations where companies from the telecommunications sector – such as carriers, Internet service providers, content networks, and content delivery networks – interconnect to exchange data. Now we are starting to see an increasing number of participants joining from other industries. By joining Internet Exchanges, enterprises are re-gaining control over their traffic engineering and taking advantage of interconnection services such as peering, cloud connectivity, and Closed User Groups.

Distributed IX Architecture Leveraging VxLAN (IX Operator Track)
With bandwidth demands rapidly increasing as well as the ever present need for more connectivity, there are many benefits to looking towards a distributed Internet Exchange architecture.  Scalability and flexibility of services and delivery is paramount to maintain to keep up with demand.  By leveraging a hierarchical design coupled with modern overlay technology, VxLAN, services can be seamlessly provisioned, modified and deprovisioned as needed without impacting the entire exchange.  We will cover this architecture in detail and discuss the benefits of this approach.

Getting started with BGP route filter automation for AS Operators (Peer Track)
  • The Internet Route Registry contains announced routes and routing policy in a common format that network operators can use to configure their backbone routers. RPKI uses cryptographically verifiable statements to ensure Internet number resources are certifiably linked to the holders of those resources. Automating the process of generating BGP route filters from IRR and RPKI objects can enhance your border routing security/integrity while reducing hours spent on manual router configurations.
